This contains the information below, PLUS travel info, terms & conditions, etc
Tickets feature a barcode that is unique to each ticket. This barcode will be scanned on entry to the festival to ensure you have a genuine ticket. Each barcode will only allow entry for one person. Please do not buy tickets from unauthorised outlets, as these tickets are liable to be fakes with duplicated barcodes that will not gain you entry to the festival. Please also avoid posting pictures of your tickets on social media as the barcodes can be copied.
If you have a Weekend ticket, please ensure you retain your ticket for both days as you will need this to enter the festival.
Saturday & Sunday:
Box offices open at 9.30am, Gates open at 10.30am.
No entry into the site after 8pm. No exceptions.
There will be no music after 11pm. Bars and food will close at 11pm and the site will close shortly after so please leave when asked to do so to help us clear the site and minimise disruption to our neighbours.
PLEASE NOTE: allow plenty of time for arrival and onward journeys as it is a city centre location and there will be many of us trying to get away from the site at a similar time. There are after-parties in Oxford if you want to carry on enjoying yourself!
You are NOT allowed to bring in your own alcohol. There are fully licensed bars with cold drinks available for you. You cannot leave the site with alcohol.
Pick up your waste and bin it — Please respect the beautiful land you are staying on and help us keep the Common People site and the surrounding area clean and tidy all weekend long by throwing your rubbish into the bins provided. Please do your bit!
Recycle — Please put all cans and plastic bottles in the recycle bins.
Common People is a very safe place to be, but the following standard festival advice is worth taking in nonetheless… better safe than sorry!
We will have a welfare area at Common People in case you need some respite and there will also be an official meeting point too.
Be aware of your surroundings; remember that you are safer in a group. If you see anyone being aggressive to someone, let security know immediately – we don’t want people like this at Common People.
Look after your belongings – make sure you keep your mobile, iPod and wallet/purse safe and out of sight.
Activate the ‘Find My Phone’ app or similar on your smart phone before coming to the festival.
Cashpoints will be available on site.
Don’t leave your drink unattended – even soft drinks can be spiked. Remember, alcohol or drugs can affect your ability to make safe judgments. Drink in moderation to ensure you remain alert and aware of your surroundings.
If you see anything that concerns you or if you see anyone acting suspiciously please speak to the nearest police officer, security or steward – help us make Common People a safe and pleasant place to be.
We’re looking forward to a great weekend of music, arts and community. We want to reassure everyone that the safety of our audience is of paramount importance to Common People.
We are continuing our discussions with Thames Valley Police to review the security strategy for this weekend’s show and the current threat level is being addressed. We will continue to communicate with the police and our security teams throughout the course of the weekend.
We have total confidence that a proportionate and realistic level of resource and procedures will be in place.
We are expecting 20,000 people per day at South Park and want to ensure entry runs smoothly.
We will be carrying out searches so we’d ask everyone to be aware there may be queues. You can help us by minimising the baggage you are carrying and by checking our terms & conditions for a list of prohibited items and age restrictions so we can admit everyone as swiftly as possible.
Thames Valley Police have also confirmed they will be deployed around the vicinity of South Park.
We’d greatly appreciate your patience and cooperation with this.
