It’s the official world record holder for the World’s Largest Disco Ball and its coming to the heart of your city at Common People, appearing on Saturday 26 May in Oxford’s South Park this coming spring bank holiday.
But that’s not all, we want you to join in the scintillating fun. So grab your glad rags, breakout those gleaming hipsters, burnished bell bottoms, and glittering jumpsuits and dress up to the nines in your spangliest dancefloor finery – fancy dress is a must for everyone on Sequin Saturday.
As the sparkling centrepiece of Common People’s sequin-fuelled fancy dress days, the World’s Largest Disco Ball will radiate glimmering good vibes as Boney M., Snap!, Prince’s legendary backing band The New Power Generation and the disco dons themselves, The Jacksons take you to your dancing destiny at our hip-swaying, booty-shaking, fancy dressing, party heaven.
Not to be missed, our dazzling disco beauty is as high as a three-storey building, covered in 2,500 mirrored tiles that would stretch out for a kilometre laid end to end, and is filled with 350 cubic metres of air; equivalent to around a thousand beach balls, so getting it around won’t be easy. We’d have to roll it a staggering 10,358 times to get it from South Park to Southampton Common! But never fear we’ve got a very big truck and some expert disco wranglers to ensure both Common People’s luscious sites are dappled in its shimmering light.
So for just £30 for the day, what are you waiting for? Grab your Common People tickets now and bask in the record breaking brilliance.
