I Want to Play at Common People Launches!

The Common People team are very pleased to announce that we have teamed up with Nightshift and O2 Academy Oxford to launch the Oxford edition of I Want to Play at Common People. Is your band the most exciting around and can you wow the festival crowds? If you think you’ve got what it takes, then this is a gilt-edged chance to get on the line-up for this year’s Common People, held in South Park over the Spring Bank Holiday, 26th & 27th May.

To apply, you need to send one track to [email protected] with a maximum of 100 words telling us why you want to play at Common People by Friday 6th April, that’s not long, so you need to act fast. And don’t forget to include your act name, number of members, your location and your social media links. The competition is only open to acts who have not previously played at Common People.

We’ll listen to every submission and will notify successful artists by Monday 9th April. Finals will be held at the O2 Academy Oxford on Friday 27th April. If you’re not entering the competition but want to come and check out the cream of Oxfordshire’s band scene, entry is just £5.00 + booking fee. Don’t miss out on seeing some of the best new bands around.

The competition finals will be judged by the Nightshift’s Ronan Munro, O2 Academy Oxford’s Jake Pell, Common People head honcho, Rob da Bank, and a crack team of music experts. The winners will win a sought-after set at this year’s Common People on the Common Stage!
